Pedagogy of the Heart—Living Don Bosco’s Educational Vision

At the Fr. Rector’s Conference held on June 5th, Rev. Fr. Manuel Murzello revisited the cornerstone of our institutional identity: Don Bosco’s timeless approach to education. The discourse emphasized a vital truth—that for education to be effective, young people must not only be loved but must feel that they are genuinely loved through every word and action of their mentors.Fr. Murzello reminded the assembly that respect is a harvest reaped through kindness and understanding. He urged educators to adopt a vision that corrects behavior without ever rejecting the individual, fostering friendships through humor and shared interests. This Salesian vision calls us to view our students as sacred trusts, guiding them with a blend of love and patience so they may blossom into faith-filled, responsible citizens.
